To the Israelite in the wilderness, worship was all about sacrifice. No one could have their sin addressed or have fellowship with God, without sacrifice.
To the Christian in the Church, worship is all about sacrifice too. No one can have their sin addressed or have fellowship with God, without the sacrifice of Jesus.
So it is not surprising to learn that all five sacrifices listed in the Leviticus somehow point to Jesus and His sacrifice.
Yet, while multiple sacrifices were required for the Israelite, the Christian merely has to trust in the one all sufficient sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
As we explore the third recorded sacrifice, the Peace Offering, we look at the textual foundation and manuscript evidence for the book of Leviticus, showing us it as a reliable source.
Then we consider the reason for the Peace Offering, why an Israelite would make such a sacrifice.
After that, we explore the rites of the sacrifice, the process and order of sacrificing an animal.
Finally we take a closer look at why it is a picture of Jesus and His ultimate sacrifice for the whole world.
